Yashasvi and Virat Kohli Breaks Records in India Vs Australia 1st Test 2024
A Partnership of 201 runs between Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, the highest opening stand for India in Tests in Australia. Kris Srikanth and Sunil Gavaskar held the record previously with their 191-run partnership in Sydney in 1986.
India declared its innings at 487/6 on the basis of centuries from Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal (161 runs). With this, Australia got the target of 534 runs. In reply, Australia has lost the first wicket for zero. Nathan McSweeney returned to the pavilion on zero.
At close of day 3, the team’s score is 12/3. Australia needs 522 more runs to win. Jaspreet Bumrah snatched 2 wickets in the last session of day 3.

Apart from Jaiswal-Kohli in the Indian innings, Nitish Reddy returned unbeaten after scoring 38 runs. Washington Sundar scored 29 runs, Devdutt Padikkal scored 25 runs and KL Rahul scored 77 runs. Nathan Lyon got 2 wickets.
Team India started playing in the morning with a score of 172 runs. Jaiswal started day 3 at a score of 90 and KL Rahul led their innings with 62 runs. Australia was all out for 104 runs in the first innings. In this way India got a lead of 46 runs after the first innings. The Indian team had scored 150 runs in the first innings.

Virat Kohli has scored the 30th century of his Test career. Virat played an unbeaten inning of 100 runs in the second innings of the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Kohli has overtaken Australia’s great batsman Don Brandman (29 centuries) in terms of most Test centuries.
